Valentina Gonzalez
Valentina Gonzalez (born September 18th, 1988), played Middle Hitter for the University of Georgia Bulldogs volleyball team from 2007-2010. She is the daughter of Jose Luis and Sandra Gonzalez. Valentina has two sisters, Emilia and Regina, and a brother, Jose. She majored in fashion merchandising.
Gonzalez graduated from Prepa Tec where she was a four-year starter. She played in Mexico’s National Olympics from 2000-05 and won in Matamoros, Mexico, in 2003. She earned “best team athlete” and “best volleyball player” awards in 2004.
As a freshman in 2007 she earned team’s Most Improved Player award. In 2008 she led the team with 118 blocks. In 2009 & 2010 she was named to the All-SEC Second Team. In 2009 she again led the team again in total blocks with 130.
