Susan Slaughter (born Susan Noelle Utermark, May 1, 1987) is a paranormal investigator on the SyFy Network reality show, Ghost Hunters International. Slaughter was born and raised in Miami, Florida, and currently resides in North Hollywood, California. Slaughter is fluent in both English and Spanish. Slaughter attended Miami Southridge Senior High School, and majored in fashion & costume design at Miami Dade College.
Slaughter began paranormal investigating at the age of 15. Originally just a hobby, paranormal investigating eventually led to her ceasing her pursuit of a fashion design degree. Slaughter has been quoted as having had many supernatural experiences, “Growing up with a very spiritually inclined family I have always had an open vision to spirits and entities. Learning how people are affected from these spirits and how we affect them has always been on the forefront on my curiosity. I believe that finding and understanding the supernatural can help me evolve spiritually, at the same time it can let me help others.”
Eventually Slaughter joined the League of Paranormal Investigators out of Miami, Florida, which was founded in February of 2008 by Jessica Bandora Fox, Ed de Jong, Terri Powell, and Atena Komar- a foursome collectively known as ‘BETA’. LPI also has divisions in Mexico, The Netherlands, and ‘International’. Slaughter trained with LPI to be an EVP specialist, and is still listed with LPI as an honorary member.
On November 11th, 2009, Slaughter made her first appearance on the first season of Ghost Hunters Academy. Slaughter, along with Karl Pfeiffer, was proclaimed the eventual winner when the final season-one episode aired on December 16th, 2009- with the grand prize being both Slaughter and Pfeiffer moving on to the ensuing season of Ghost Hunters International. Slaughter made her first appearance on GHI in July of 2010. Pfeiffer appeared on only one episode of the series.
Slaughter once aspired to be a DJ. She has also studied demonology and parapsychology extensively. Slaughter has a large phoenix tattooed along the right side of her torso. Susan was also featured as Smartasses.net’s March 2012 Hot Chick O’ The Month.

Bettie Page passed away a few months too early. Had she been around in 2009 to see this Dade County doxy’s television debut on Ghost Hunters Academy… she’d have been a fan. Then again, if there’s anyone out there with the skills to get the post-mortem attention of Ms. Page, or anyone else deceased for that matter, it’s Susan Slaughter. This swart haired mistress of electro-magnetic fields was actually the number one draw to our website in 2012, and it’s easy to see why you like her. In her Evan-Rachel-Wood-meets-Veronica-Lake kind of way, Slaughter takes control and gets things done in front of the camera, and seemingly… has a deliciously dark and wild side behind it.
