Odette Juliette Yustman (born May 10, 1985) is an American actress. Yustman was born in Los Angeles, California. Her mother, Lydia, is Cuban, and her father, Victor Yustman, who is of Italian and French descent, was born in Bogota, Colombia and raised in Nicaragua. Yustman is fluent in Spanish. Odette was previously engaged to actor Trevor Wright. She married fellow Brothers & Sisters star Dave Annable on October 10, 2010. In their wedding vows, Odette made Dave Annable promise to learn Spanish and plans to pass down the language to her kids one day. Yustman graduated from Woodcrest Christian High School in Riverside, California. After graduating, she planned on getting a degree in business finance at Loyola Marymount University before she decided to pursue a career in acting instead.
Yustman debuted at an early age, playing a young, Spanish-speaking student named Rosa in Kindergarten Cop and later moved on to various television shows and movies, such as South Beach and October Road. In 2007, Yustman starred in the Lifetime original movie Reckless Behavior: Caught on Tape and followed it quickly with a lead role in J. J. Abrams’ Cloverfield. On January 29, 2008, Variety announced that Odette would appear in The Unborn, which was released in 2009. Much Internet buzz was generated by the release of an international poster for the film, that seemed to exploit Yustman’s physical attractiveness. Yustman was nominated in 2008 for a Teen Choice Award for her role in the film. Other notable film appearances include; Transformers (2007), Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story (2007),with Maggie Q in Operation: Endgame (2009), Group Sex (2010), with Amber Heard in And Soon the Darkness (2010), You Again (2010) and The Double (2011).
Odette also starred as Melanie on the FOX comedy, Breaking In. Although the series was initially cancelled, on August 24, 2011, the show was renewed by FOX. Odette and Michael Rosenbaum only came back for only a handful of episodes. In October 2011, Annable began starring on House as Dr. Jessica Adams, one of Dr. Gregory House’s newest recruits. She also starred as Annie, in five episodes of Brothers & Sisters with her husband, Dave Annable. Yustman also provided the voice of the character Amata in Fallout 3, as well as the voice of Chloe in Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2.
