Linn Natassia Malthe (born January 19, 1974) is a Norwegian-born model, actress, ballet dancer, and spokesperson. She is usually credited by her birth name but is sometimes credited as Lina Teal. She is best known for playing the villainous Typhoid in Elektra opposite Jennifer Garner, and for her portrayal of Rayne, the half-human/half-vampire warrior, in BloodRayne II: Deliverance. She is 5′ 5″ (165.1 cm) tall. From 1999 to 2001, Malthe had a relationship with actor Rey-Phillip Santos and they have one child together.
Malthe was born in Oslo, Norway. She is half Norwegian and half-Malaysian and is the younger of two daughters. Her sister, Kristin Malthe, is a Giordano girl. Malthe spent her formative years with her single mother in Norway and Canada. Malthe started her dance training at the age of 8, when she trained with the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, the Goh Ballet of Vancouver and the Beijing Ballet in China. At age 13 she moved back to her home country of Norway, where she trained and performed with the Norwegian Opera House until the age of 19. After high school she went on to study theater, dance and singing in London, England with the London Studio Centre of Performing Arts. She later moved back to Norway and was awarded a scholarship to study with the prestigious college Statens Norske Ballet Hoyskol, and then returned to Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, where she landed her first parts on television, with guest spots on Viper, Millennium, and First Wave. Her other television credits include Dark Angel opposite Jessica Alba, Knights of Bloodsteel, Seven Days, The Chris Isaak Show, The Dead Zone and Andromeda among others.
In 1998, Malthe made her film debut in Disturbing Behavior. She has also made film appearances in the films Lake Placid, 40 Days and 40 Nights and Halloween: Resurrection as well as several other films. Malthe also does fashion modeling and has done ads for Giordano, Pantene, Axe, Toro Women, and Johnson’s pH 5.5.
Malthe has lived in Hong Kong, Singapore, the Philippines, Thailand, Canada, and the US. On March 11, 2011 when the Japanese earthquake hit, Malthe became involved with fundraising to help the victims of the tsunami. She founded the charity TDERF.org and raised money for the relief effort, which helped facilitate hundred thousands of dollars worth of supplies to the victims of Northern Japan. – Various
