Hilary Erhard Duff (born September 28, 1987) in Houston, Texas. Duff has an elder sister, Haylie, who is also an actress and singer. Her mother encouraged her to enroll in acting classes alongside Haylie. Both girls won roles in local theatre productions. At the ages of six and eight, the two sisters participated in a BalletMet Columbus production of The Nutcracker Suite in San Antonio. The sisters became increasingly interested in pursuing acting and their mother moved with them to California, while their father stayed in Houston to take care of his business. The sisters auditioned for several years and were cast in several television commercials. Due to her acting career, Duff was home-schooled. In 2007, Duff began dating Canadian NHL player Mike Comrie. On February 19, 2010, Duff and Comrie announced their engagement. The couple married on August 14, 2010 in Santa Barbara, California. A year later on August 14, 2011, Duff announced via her official website that she and her husband are expecting their first child together.
Duff gained fame for playing the title role in the Disney Channel television series Lizzie McGuire. She subsequently ventured into motion pictures and has many successful films to her credit including The Lizzie McGuire Movie, Cheaper by the Dozen, A Cinderella Story and Cheaper by the Dozen 2.
Duff ventured into pop music with the release of several platinum albums: Metamorphosis, her debut studio album, was certified triple platinum and was followed by two other platinum albums, Hilary Duff and Most Wanted. As of 2010, Duff has sold over thirteen million records worldwide. Billboard ranked her the 69th Artist of the 2000s decade.
Branching into the fashion industry, Duff has also launched her own clothing lines, Stuff by Hilary Duff and Femme for DKNY Jeans. She has two exclusive perfume collections with Elizabeth Arden as well as having been signed on to modeling agency IMG Models. Other business ventures include writing a young adult novel Elixir, being accredited as an executive producer for According to Greta and a producer for the films Material Girls and Beauty & the Briefcase. In September 2009, Duff released a second clothing line with DKNY Jeans as Femme for DKNY in the objective of designing a clothing line for girls her own age.
Playmates Toys released a celebrity doll of her in 2004. In late 2006, Mattel released a Hilary Duff Barbie doll. With the release of her doll, she joined Reese Witherspoon, Beyoncé Knowles, and Lucille Ball on the list of celebrities who have their own celebrity dolls. Duff is involved with various philanthropic activities and is an animal rights enthusiast and a member of Kids with a Cause. She donated $250,000 to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina.[75] In 2005, she donated over 2.5 million meals to Hurricane Katrina victims in the south. In August 2006, Duff traveled to a New Orleans elementary school and worked with USA Harvest to distribute meals. Why we think she’s hot:
It was hard to believe that Hilary Duff was only a mere 24 years old when she made our Top 100 Sexiest Women List in 2011, as she’s seemingly been on lips of the public for a millennia. But we suppose that’s what happens when you start your career at a mere eleven years old, and reach your peak of popularity at sixteen. Either way, Hilary just seems to get more and more smoking hot as the years tick by. We feel there’s also a refreshing ‘icing’ of respect owed to Duff, given the fact that she hasn’t needed to resort to shock value, in order to maintain her level of attention in the world. But let’s not forget, it’s definitely her killer smile and exotic looks that make up the cake.
