Hannah Simone (born December 27, 1990) is a television host and former fashion model. She is best known for her work as a VJ for MuchMusic in Canada, the host of WCG Ultimate Gamer, and the role of CeCe Meyers on New Girl.
Hannah Simone spent her early childhood in Calgary, Alberta. She has lived in Saudi Arabia, worked as a fashion model in Cyprus, attended an American Embassy school in New Delhi, India, where she organized a benefit concert for women and children with AIDS, and has also resided in Vancouver.
For two years, she was a researcher for a book by Lloyd Axworthy, previously a Foreign Affairs minister under the Jean Chrétien cabinet. After this, she moved to the UK to work with the United Nations Association in London supporting the Model UN program and serving as a human rights and refugee officer. During her studies at Ryerson, she was a radio host at the campus-based CKLN-FM. Living in that cramped little loft on WCG Ultimate Gamer, with eleven other video-game-geeks was one thing. Living in that cramped little loft, with Hannah Simone right outside your door, and knowing there is nothing you can do to appease your ummm… ‘imagination’, solely because of the eleven other people is another issue entirely. With those kind of living conditions, it’s no wonder that the guys and girls on that show excelled at video game violence and the physical contests that mirror them, as we can’t even begin to think of a secnario more ideal for creating the desire to let off a little steam. As for Simone, she brought a certain poise to the show, beyond what anyone of sound mind would expect for that type of format. Let’s face it, when you’re playing the latest edition of Madden on your greasy vinyl couch, wearing nothing but dirty athletic socks and potato chip crumbs, the last thing you’d expect to see in this frame is Naomi Campbell or Gisele Bundchen standing beside you. But in Hannah’s drop-dead supermodel style, that is exactly what she brought to the show. Whatever the case, even if WCGUG had traded in her Chanel dresses and Jimmy Choo shoes for some dirty tube socks and a pizza-crust necklace, Simone could still play with our joystick any time she wants.
