Destinee Dante Hooker (born September 7, 1987) is an American indoor volleyball player. She is 6’4″ and plays opposite attacker. Hooker is a current member of the United States women’s national volleyball team. She played college women’s volleyball at University of Texas. Destinee is the daughter of Ricky and Marvetta Hooker. Her sister Marshevet, was an NCAA champion, All-American and Big 12 champion in the long jump, sprints and relays from 2004-06 before turning professional and competing in the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.
Destinee Hooker attended the University of Texas for track and field where she was a six time All American and holds the NCAA National Indoor High Jump record at 6’6. During her volleyball career at UT she was named a Honda Award Finalist and AVCA All America first team. She lead her team to the 2009 NCAA National Championship in Florida only to lose to a 3 set comeback by Penn State. Despite their loss, Hooker was still named MVP of the tournament. Destinee graduated early from High School in order to compete with her sister Marshevet during the 2006 indoor and outdoor Track & Field seasons at UT, helping them win the 2006 NCAA Indoor Championship.
Hooker has played volleyball professionally on an international level for Corozal Pinkins in Puerto Rico and GS Caltex Club in Seoul, Korea and with Osasco Sollys Nestle 2011/2012 season. She is currently on the US Women’s National Volleyball Team and helped them to a Gold medal at the FIVB World Grand Prix in Ningbo, China. While there, she led the US team in kills during the tournament.

Though there is no arguing that she is indeed sexy, and at times, just like any other neighborhood superheroine, you will definitely believe she can fly, but perhaps it was Sheer Energy who said it best, “Nothing beats a great pair of legs’ and Hooker’s got two of the best sets of calves, knees and thighs around, supporting that splendidly not-little, six-foot-four-inch frame. But perhaps best of all, she is a gamer. Former Team USA coach Hugh McCutcheon said of Hooker, in response to she being one of the world’s best players in less than two years after graduating college, “Once you get to know her and you understand her drive and competitive nature, it’s not surprising. Athletically, she’s a very special talent. Combine that with her drive to succeed, and it’s not surprising at all.” For anyone who watched Destinee in the 2009 National Championship against Penn State, where she won MVP in spite of the Longhorn loss (even though Texas tied Penn State 107 to 107), this is already old news.
